RUMBle planning and set up
The RUMBLE is a high school community event held at the football field at IHS in august (typically before school starts). It is a family venue with almost all sports and academic groups within HIS present as well as fund-raising items for sale. There are food trucks and activities for children. Groups are introduced on to the field before each game. There is also a football scrimmage (IHS against IHS).
Event Planning
⦁ The RUMBLE t-shirt is sold by IHS Cheer
⦁ Create shirt design
⦁ Work with donor to sponsor t-shirts (typically Cane’s)
⦁ Order, pick-up, and deliver to school
⦁ Typical order number is approximately 250
⦁ A dolly might be helpful depending on the number of boxes and how far they will need to be carried
⦁ Select a food truck – The school only allows one food truck per type of food, i.e. you cannot have a truck that serves Mexican food if another one is already reserved
⦁ Notify the office in the in April to reserve the type of truck you want
⦁ Reserve the food truck
⦁ Negotiate a portion of the proceeds from the food truck to be donated to IHS Cheer
⦁ Consider any other fund-raising items you would like to be able to have for sale. This event is the opening event of the season with incoming freshman and their families
⦁ Pre-sale of fund-raising items to school staff can be completed by coaches
⦁ Select one or two fun activities for children. We typically had IHS tattoos (2 kinds) and face painting. Supply this to the office.
⦁ You will need washcloths to apply tattoos and a trash bag for the plastic backs
Set Up
⦁ Bring a large tent
⦁ Volunteers bring enough chairs for sales table and activity areas
⦁ Bring Cheer Booster Sign and a way to hang it
⦁ Bring hangers to hang a couple of shirts up so they are more visible
⦁ Plenty of change
